Today was probably the hardest day of my life. We had to put my great dane Cleo down. She would have been 9 years old at the end of the month. For those of you who have followed me for a long time, you know how important this dog has been to me, and how she has been an inspiration even in my art. She had sudden heart complications, and we lost her within a month of discovering the problem. Considering she was almost 9, she lived a long life for a great dane, as the average life expectancy is 6-8 years. I can still remember the day I came home and found a rolly-polly puppy waiting for me.
This piece is completely inaccurate, but I can't force myself to look at photos of her for reference right now.
Cleo, you were the greatest dog I could have ever asked for. Thank you for changing my life.
